Cobalt Boats is an American manufacturer of recreational motorboats. It was founded in 1968 and operated independently until its acquisition by Malibu Boats in 2017. In 2022, the website was due for a new design. As the web designer and web developer on the project, the creative vision was a focus on elegance and content architecture, telling the story of each model through images and the extensive options.

Role as the Web Designer

The main goal as the web designer was to give visitors the best online experience possible. I wanted them to feel like they were experiencing every feature of the boats when they visit the website.

To make this happen, I carefully chose the content and images. I dove deep into the brand and their many features. Everything on the site was selected to show off the excitement and quality they are known for.

Role as the Web Developer

My main goal as the web developer was to build an easy to use content editor for their team. I did this using Carbon Fields to build custom fields and templates for the site.

The new website isn’t just about showing off boats; it’s about taking visitors on a virtual journey. It’s giving them a sneak peek into all the features offered. From amazing pictures of their boats in action to interesting stories about the company’s history and values, I made sure every detail is shown.
